Installing Mirrors
When you build a house, it is likely that you are going to eventually get to the stage of wanting to install mirrors in your home. This could include mirrors in the bathrooms, or even mirrors on the doors for getting dressed in areas such as your closet.
Typically, you will begin installing mirrors after the wallpaper installation has been complete. It also typically will come after the final installation of your homes hardware. It is at this time that you will begin to install mirror and shower doors, and mirror bypass doors should also be installed at this time.
When you hire your contractors for installing mirrors, it will be the contractors responsibility to provide all material for this work. He will install the shower door, frame, caulking, plate glass mirror, mounting clips, tracks and frame and mirror doors.
At this time, your subcontractor will install the shower doors on the ceramic tile and the shower pan, adjusts it for plumbness, and then caulks the frame to the ceramic tile. At this time, mirrors are also installed according to your building plans and are installed on metal mounting clips and then glued over vanity areas. This is unless you have specified special mirrors, such as framed mirrors. You should always have a clear understanding with your subcontractor as to the expectation and your specific mirror specifications.
