Ordering Doors

Making sure that you are ordering doors with adequate lead time is an important part of your job as you build your own home. So after the frame is started (or as your suppliers lead time dictates), it is going to be your responsibility to make sure you contact your door supplier for ordering doors for your home. For this stage of your construction, it is going to be important that you review the blue prints for correct sizes of the doors you are ordering. • When ordering doors it is important for you to check for the correct size and door swing according to the plan.
• You also need to confirm the location for all doors you are ordering.
• Confirm that the given height of doors you are ordering do not interfere with crown molding or brick work.
• Confirm if particular doors you are ordering are clear or divided light.
• Check local building codes for requirements on tempered windows on all doors ordered.
• Confirm colors, materials, and selections when ordering doors.
